Hi,
I am starting to use WDS, on a Windows Server 2012 Box.
Our domain controller and DHCP server are on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard boxes.
I had WDS working (basicly), now we have started to introduce VLANs into the mix.
I have the WDS server on VLAN 1 (10.0.0.105) and the clients VLAn 99 on 10.99.10.x (SM 255.255.0.0 and DG 10.99.0.11 which is our core switch, to route back to VLAN 1.
DHCP is running on our primary server 10.0.0.87 and the WDS services (and I think PXE booting) are running on 10.0.0.105.
At present booting using UEFI boot IP4 from a Windows 8.1 box, I can't boot to WDS (the Wind 8.1 box is in 10.99.10.1).
From a BIOS boot PXE IP4 Windows 7 box (10.99.10.6), I am getting the error message:
"ProxyDHCP Service did not reply to request on port 4011"
Being very very new to VLANing, I need to know if I have configured everything correctly.
My colleague has configured an IP-Helper rule for one of our DNS servers, and I need to know do I have to do the same for the WDS box?
Are there other ways, instructions, e.t.c?
Also, is there a way to bring up the UEFI or PXE boot menu presented by WDS, by using key stokes, e.t.c?
Thanks everyone.
