Hey,
I'm seeing some strange issues with WDS where we're using WDS referral / referred servers by setting the netbootmachine file path. The PXE client cannot contact ( via TFTP ) referred server in a first order referral scenario.
ComputerA sends a DHCP broadcast packet and receives an IP address lease from a DHCP server and a response from PXE Server1. ComputerA contacts PXE Server1 directly on port 4011. PXE Server1 refers the client to download {pxeboot.com} from Server2. Server2 is running WDS TFTP service provider ( WDS PXE Provider has been disabled )
Where Server1 is a Windows 2003 RIS Server the referral works as expected. When Server1 is replaced with a 2008R2 WDS server we see a timeout ... client boot screen shows
Downloaded WDSNBP...
