Hi,
I got a new computer in September and have not used FileZilla on it yet. I had no problems with my old computer but it was also a different network. Can someone help me set this up and change the port numbers? I have a router and I am using my wifi if that helps.
Thank you
Hi All,While I trying to update the operating system from 2008 to 2012 I am facing error related to windows installation disappear
While I try to install through CLI it giving error as below Kindly suggest on same
I am trying to build Windows 10 image from VMWARE to deploy to 100 workstations in our organization. I have the image the way i want it to look in the image. I have been following guides that tell me i need to create a capture task to capture the image with the Litetouch vbs file and then another Deployment task to deploy the image onto the new computers. The issue i have is the multiple unattend.xml files. One for the capture task and one for the deployment task. Which unattend file takes precedent? do i have to make them both the same.
if i am in vmware and i run sysprep.exe /oobe /generalize /shutdown /unattend:C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\unattend.xml with the customised XML i have created the vnware will bootup normally and everything will look how i want it to look.
But if i run the capture task everything goes by the default xml in the capture task. Should i run the capture task and disable the sysprep portion of the capture task? and then if i do this what do i do with the deployment task?
Thanks in advance
Hello,
I wonder if there is any way to change User Interface language in WDS after you install this role in Windows Server? There is no option I can think of. Can anybody provide some clues? Let's say: from English to Spanish?
Thanks!
I am having the same problem many people have where I sysprep an image but when I try to capture it, I see no disk in the wizard. I have read the other posts and confirmed:
1. I have run sysprep on the server before rebooting with the generalize switch
2. I have not let the image boot back up prior network booting to WDS to run the capture wizard
3. In the capture wizard screen, I have used shift-f10 to run diskpart. I see all disks and all volumes on those disks. The only odd thing is disk 0 shows OFFLINE. I don't know if this is normal or not. If I bring it online, it has not affect. But regardless, I can see the volumes on the disk.
4. I have run regedit from the command prompt (above) and can load the offline registry from the OS disk. I have verified the two registry settings are correct to indicate a successful sysprep:
I have done this sucessful image captures hundreds of time...even on this exact model of server (HPE GEN10) with Windows 2016 just a few months ago - and it worked fine then. Now suddenly, it sees no disk.
So I guess the only thing that is odd, is that disk 0 shows offline in diskpart. Is that normal? Since I can see the disks and volumes, I have to assume I have the correct driver injected into my boot image. So what would make the disk be offline if that is not normal?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm trying to update my install.wim with the new update from February 2019 using DISM from the cmd line. I extracted the .cab from the .msu file and I installed the latest SSU for the image but I'm still getting this error :

Hello All,
I am looking to create an unattended install of Windows Server 2016 either from a network drive or USB. I have found several articles and the solutions provided do not seem to work. The furthest I was able to get was to create an unattend.xml file, however the result is just a reboot loop when the install runs. Furthermore, I cant find any logs to debug it.
Several years ago I was able to do this with Server 2003, but no luck with 2016. It looks like the process is far more complex since the image manager is now required.

Some articles and docs suggest AIK, others suggest MDT. Which one works?
Does anyone here have a working example they could post?

Hi,
On our 2019 server we are no longer able to PXE boot from WDS with MDT lite touch image after installing the March 19 cumulative update, kb4489899.
We are getting the following error: A required device isn't connected or cannot be accessed.
Other people are reporting this issue on server 2012: https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/b08coa/patch_tuesday_megathread_20190312/eifnzlq/
I've set up WDS (with some MDT added for good measure) for our company VMs and computers.
Yesterday I applied the 2019-03 cumulative update to the WDS server (running Windows Server 2016 Standard) and today, I can't use WDS any more.
A sample VM will get the initial list of boot images, but regardless of which image I pick, the transfer will stop after a few seconds (with the progress bar having moved a few "squares") and after a minute or so of nothing happening I'll get the generic "A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed" error.
Checking the WDS logs, the only thing that I found is the following:
The Following Client failed TFTP Download:
Client IP: 10.150.4.3
Filename: \Boot\x64\Images\boot.wim
ErrorCode: 13
File Size: 291959795
Client Port: 9956
Server Port: 53793
Variable Window: true
Again, things were working just fine a few days ago and the only thing that's changed that I can think of is the recent cumulative patch that has been applied.
Any ideas what might be wrong?
PS. AFAIK TFTP has error codes from 1 to 9, and I can't find ANY information about error code 13 in relation with TFTP...
Hi,
I ran into a strange issue with the WDS as it failed to create files for the x64uefi architecture.
I have done following but still same issue
1. Remove the WDS role
2. Remove the old RemoteInstall folder and create a new one (even on a separate partition).
3. Reinstalled the OS, this time everything should be defaults, but unfortunately, same result.
4. Permissions: I am using default Administrator account, so no issues with permissions.
5. Boot.WIM (its PE 1809 image, which was used on a different machine without issues). I can still boot a client in legacy boot mode but failed with UEFI boot (as WDS failed to create boot files for this architecture).
Any thoughts?
Hello,
We are in the process of upgrading our 2008 R2 servers to 2012 R2 servers. I have the Windows Server 2012 R2 iso image and when I run the file it will go through the Setup screen (Copying Temporary Files) and then the Setup Is Starting screen. The program then shuts down and brings me back to the Install Now screen.
It creates the $WINDOWS.~BT folder with a Sources subfolder. If I run setup.exe within that folder it will throw an error stating that "Windows was unable to locate required installation file [boot.wim].
Verify that the installation source is valid, and restart the installation."
Any help would be appreciated!

Dear Team,
We have an issue where some of the boot images are not copied to RemoteInstall folder though the package is in SCCM DP. Could anyone help me in troubleshooting this issue with WDS which we suspect?
Hi everyone, hope you can help me.
I have a Windows Server 2019 with WDS role
It was working perfectly with many virtual and physical machines for Windows deployment.
Suddenly without changing anything it stopped working and now machines (virtual or physical) get stuck at the start of the loading bar and then display this error:
Status: 0xc0000001
Info: A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
I've already tried reinstalling WDS role and shared file
Hello Folks,
I'm quite new to the Windows Server administration, so my question might be silly...
I have a Windows Server computer that hosts an Active Directory with WDS and a very well configured Bitlocker Network Unlock.
Now, I want to replicate the active directory in case of breakdown of my main server. So I have install the following features on my second server :
I have replicate my active directory and I see all my GPO on my server. I also install the certificates and disable the firewall. But when my main server is shuted down I see the following error on the event viewer :
NKP request processing failed while searching for configuration by thumbprint.
Do you need more informations ?
Thank you,
Olivier
