I need a Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 64bit install image

Could someone please provide a download link for a Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 64bit ISO? Not a R2 image.

I need to repair a current Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 64bit installation to properly remove Exchange 2007 from my Exchange 2007-2013 coexistence environment.

I might have a Server 2008 Enterprise 64bit image without SP2 but I'm guessing I need an image with SP2 to repair a SP2 installation?

Windows 2008 R2 activation

Hello,

I'm trying to activate Windows 2008 R2 Standard on my computer and I get an error. I want to do the phone activation, but I do not get the phone numbers list (only a link to the help file), and I do not get the phone activation screen (with the fields for manual input). I looked for a number on the web but found only the volume license activation numbers. I have a standard license.

I live in Canada...does anybody know the number and how to get the phone activation screen?

Freshly installed WS 2016 has only 10 days of evaluation.

Hello,

I have a problem with getting my WS 2016 Datacenter a 180 days evaluation period. It shows me that it's activated, but slmgr /dli shows only 10 days are left. It's a VM on W10 Hyper-V.

MDT WDS Deployment LTI, Reboot after installation + Installing applications

Hi Folks,

Yesterday I updated my Deployment Share in the Deployment Workbench. I am currently using Windows 10-1803-x64-NL image. It was really hard to deploy it. Absolutly not user friendly :(.

In the .ISO I downloaded there was no install.wim file in the source folder.
Convert install.esd to install.wim

Finally it works :) and I imported the operating system.

Lite Touch Installtion.

Problems
1. The Machine did not deploy .EXE applications and also did not reboot after installing windows 10 pro 1803
2. After a manual reboot, the computer cannot logon with the administrator password, I need to typ it in myself, It does not auto login.



After configuring the MDT Share with the following applications / configurations:

The final error I see on the computer:

We use HP Probook 650 G1 machines.

The machine need to auto reboot after installing Windows 10 on the computer.

Or is it possible to create a default (native) capture image and deploy that image.

I also did a Sysprep.exe on Windows 10. After the sysprep was completed it was not possible to create a capture image because the computer did not intend to be in the domain. There was no local administrator account. I needed to do some stupid security questions and other privacy statements by microsoft.

We use a Server 2012 with WDS

1x Core swith -- VLAN 1 tagged all Ip4
ESxi VMWARE Machines for our servers

NIC Teaming on Server 2016 delays network availability on Domain Controllers causing problems with Active Directory

I have a physical server (IBM HS22) with 2 NICs.  I freshly installed Windows Server 2016 with AD Directory Services, DNS, DFS, and DHCP server roles.  It's up-to-date with Windows Updates.

The two NICs are teamed using lbfoadmin as switch independent, dynamic, and no standby.

Problem

When the server reboots, many unexpected event log entries are recorded.  All the errors are related to networking problems, or lack of networking.

Examples: DNS server could not bind to IP address, ADWS cannot service directory, DFS Rootxxx failed during initialization, ntpclient cannot find peer, Intersite Messaging failed, etc.

I receive 20-40 errors on each boot.

Notes

  • If I break the team and just use one NIC (it doesn't matter which one), these errors do not occur
  • If the team contains only one NIC, and I disable the other NIC, the problem still exists
  • Changing other team settings such as standby adapter and type doesn't help
  • This problem does not appear on similar hardware using 2012 R2
  • Side note:  The services seem to auto-recover because all the server roles seem to be working

I suspect the teaming layer is adding a delay to networking availability and is causing the services to fail because the network is not ready.

I really want the NICs teamed for fault-tolerance.  Any ideas on how I can fix/workaround this problem?

UEFI PXE Boot Issues - Intel I219-V / Killer E2500 NICs

Hi Guys

Looking for some ideas/advice on this one.

We have a Server 2016 WDS Server. No MDT/SCCM, just a clean WDS install configured as a "Standalone Server".

Most systems PXE boot in UEFI using IPv4 Network Stack Options set at a UEFI BIOS level.

The only pattern to the systems that don't find the server is they have either of the following NIC's:

Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219-V (e1d65x64.inf)

Killer E2500 (e2xw10x64.inf)

I've checked the Windows 10 ISO (released in Jan 2017) and it doesn't have the required drivers built in.

I've tried injecting the drivers using DISM and although it reports it's succeeded the systems with these LAN ports still don't find the server on the network.

The error when trying to PXE boot is:

PXE-E16: No offer received.

As an alternative idea I created a WinPE USB with a Discovery Image loaded in (including the two drivers) - these are having issues getting connected to the server during launch:

Hi

If i run a MDT server and need updates what do i take and how do i know what to take. 

For example if i want to update win 10 x64 v1603 to v1809. 

Can take v1809 directly or do i have to update all in between?

Any good guides on this? :)

Hello Support,

I have a server 2016 essential.  everything is working fine.  i installed two new computers (replacing to old computers that are joined to the domain).  These are Windows 10 pro and fully updated.  I ran server connect command.  the software downloads and runs but does not complete.  it goes back to the screen to download the software.  I have downloaded the connect software and ran it as administrator.  But still not working.

I had to join it manually.  But i do not see the new computers as part of the dashboard. 

I appreciate all your help.

I am working on WDS and MDT

Installed latest version of both tools in Windows server 2016 server

Aim : Create a reference image for Windows 7 and Windows 10 using MDT and Deploy it using WDS

Qn 1 : I have creates the LiteTouch iso image using MDT, When i try to add install image in wds i am getting "this file does not contain a valid install image" error but i am able to add boot image in wds. Am i doing anything wrong here ?

Qn 2 : I have added Win 7 and Win 10 images in MDT and also customized with different profiles. When i update deployment share, would it create iso image for Win7 or Win 10 ?

How does the Microsoft update installer know which update should be installed first?

Let's say if i have the latest CU (KB4467691) for windows server 2016. It again depends on servicing stack updates (KB4465659) which in turn depends on  (KB4132216).

If i copy to a folder all the above updates, how will the Microsoft update installer figure out which one to install first? Is there a way to determine this? or can we slip stream the CU and its pre-requisite updates?

I have got ransomware attack on my active directory server. Now I newly setup a domain controller with same configurations.

Hello,

I'm trying to activate Windows 2008 R2 Standard on my computer and I get an error. I want to do the phone activation, but I do not get the phone numbers list (only a link to the help file), and I do not get the phone activation screen (with the fields for manual input). I looked for a number on the web but found only the volume license activation numbers. I have a standard license.

I live in Canada...does anybody know the number and how to get the phone activation screen?

Volume to Capture drop-down empty

Hi, I am currently having some issues with WDS 2003 and capturing a Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) machine.

The server is running Windows 2003 SP2 Standard with WDS installed, I am currently able to deploy Windows XP images without any issues fully automated.

Firstly I added a boot image (boot.wim) for Windows 7 Professional from the /sources directory in the WDS MMC console

Then I created a capture image by right clicking the previously added boot image in the WDS MMC and choosing create capture image.

I then setup my reference computer with Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) with drivers, applications etc.

I then ran sysprep from c:\windows\system32,  sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown

 I then booted via the network card and selected my Capture Image created earlier from the WDS menu.

Initially I was unable to see a 'Volume To Capture' in the drop-down box, so I did a SHIFT + F10 and ran DISKPART then lis dis .  Sure enough, it appeared that the mass storage controller drivers needed to be loaded, as the volume wasn't listed.

I then ran drvload xyz.inf to load the mass storage drivers from my USB HDD.  The drivers successfully loaded, I then ran DISKPART again and then rescan .

The RAID volume was then visible, however the volume to capture drop-down box is still blank.  I'm not sure where I'm going wrong here, as this works perfectly fine when capturing Windows XP on the same hardware.  It looks like sysprep worked successfully as when I exit WDS and allow the machine to boot up the sysprep process goes through fine.

Any ideas? As I'd really like to be able to deploy Windows 7 machines.
