Windows 2012 R2 and WDS

Good afternoon all,

Our environment - We run Windows 2012 R2 with all updates. WDS 6.3.9600.16384. Windows 8.1 Enterprise on our clients.

We are having a weird issue with our WDS server. We created two images and were successful in deploying them to different hardware. (Dell 780, 990, 9010, and Latitude ST 2). Last week, we tried running a 2nd bath of computers. It looked as if the deployment image was installed successfully. We noticed that all the machines came up with a blank screen. So we tried to image just one machine with the basic syspreped image (core application set installed). Once again, it looked as if the image comes down correctly. The machine reboots, starts installing drivers and reboots again. Windows starts loading and then the machine goes into a blank screen. No logon, no explorer, no cursor, no mouse pointer. So we figured it would be a video driver issue. I downloaded a new driver package from Dell. Created a new driver group and added the new drivers. We ran thru the deployment routine once again and the same issue came up.

I am at a loss as to why this setup (which worked without a hitch for 3 weeks) now is giving us this problem. I am beginning to think it is the unattend.xml file but I am not very familiar with WDS. I was hoping someone can shed some light into this issue. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced,
