Is it possible to add a Username/Password prompt when imaging computers Using WDS and Server 2008. Someone mention it is possible by changing the permissions on the Image file or the Boot image file or similar
I added a User with Full permissionsr and added Deny to the other user accounts on the files. I expected WDS to prompt me for the username and password I added permissions for, but it didn't.
-Boot Image = After PXE boot just hung.
-Image File (.wim) = A screen requesting for and image to be used, as WDS didnt have permissions to the .wim file, no image was available to be selected as we only use one image.
The reason why this is needed is because devices known already can be rebuilt/reimaged by anyone (not needing an administrator approval), and we've had a few instances where end users feel they know best, and have totally lost their work saved on the local machine.
Using MDT is not possible. I proposed this solution at the start of are refresh and they opted for WDS solely.
