Hello Everyone;
I have a new Windows Server 2012 box. It has joined the domain. Its function will be dedicated to Windows Deployment Services (WDS).
I have successfully installed WDS on this computer.
I went through the "Add Images" wizard and successfully added the Windows 8.1 (x64) boot and install images.
I validated the images are in the RemoteInstall folder. They are.
I checked the WDS properties "PXE Response" tab for the server and the "Respond to all client computers (known and unknown)" radio button is selected.
I have validated that the DHCP server (a separate server in the same domain and network) has a 066 "Boot Server Host Name" entry pointing the correct name of the server: NADINE.CSGP.EDU.
I have also validated that the DHCP server has a 067 "Bootfile Name" entry pointing to boot\x64\wdsnbp.com.
When I PXE enable a desktop it finds the WDS server just fine. PXE shows lots of successful messages:
"Downloaded WDSNBP from 192.168.0.2" (the address of the WDS box)
"WDSNBP started using DHCP Referral"
"Contacting Server: 192.168.0.2 (Gate: 0.0.0.0)"
"No response from Windows Deployment Services server."
"Launching pxeboot.com..."
"Press F12 for network service boot"
Once I press F12 I get a blue Recovery screen that says:
"Your PC needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors
File:\boot\bcd
Error Code: 0xc000000f"
I can ping Nadine from my DC and from local workstations. The DC is running Windows Server 2008.
I have checked the DNS record for Nadine and it is valid.
If I change the DHCP bootfile entry to boot\x86\wdsnbp.com I get exactly the same error though the screen is black and the font's a bit different.
I have exactly the same problem with a Windows Server 2003 box running WDS. If I change the DHCP 066 entry to point to this server I get exactly the same errors.
Any ideas?
