I'm using WDS installed on a 2008R2 SP1 server. My boot image is from Windows 2012. When I deploy a Windows 2012R2 image I recive an error dialog during setup that states "Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed." In checking the setupact.log file it appears as though setup can't find pkgmgr.exe. If I use the boot image from 2012 R2 then it works fine. I want to continue using my existing boot image from 2012. Any thoughts on why this is failing?
