We recently installed a MS Server 2012 Essentials system to our small office. The office network is set up as follows: Outside Internet -> Wireless Router/Firewall that includes PBX services for VoIP -> Server +computers+phones.
This morning, our entire network+phones was down. We restarted hte router/switch etc and everything was restored. I have some concerns that the router and windows essential box are both running DNS servers and may have caused the crash. We were happy to use Essentials 2012 because it is billed as a simple install.
Has anyone had any similar problems. I considered disabling DNS server on the Essentials box, but figure that will cripple AD.
Any insights are appreciated.
