2012 Server shares are not accessible.

Hi,

I upgraded a server (Domain B) from Server 2011 SBS to Server 2012 std, I then added it domain A (production/Live domain), I didnt add any server roles except file sharing at that time.  Some folks, admins for the most part, can access the shares that were and still are on that server.  Most users, who previously had the server mapped shares previously cannot access the shares and now have this error when browsing or attempting to map:

"\\server is not accessible. You might not have permissions to use this network resource.  Contact the admin.....

There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request"

This server was the only server and was the DC in domain B prior to the upgrade.  I did not remove the server from the domain or remove domain B from domain A's AD prior to the upgrade.  I did remove the server (domain B) from dns on domain A after upgrade.  Also, I kept the hostname the same after the upgrade.

What I have found in my troubleshooting is:

Users who had existing mappings/access to the shares with the server prior to upgrade to server2012, and whose PC profile now cannot access those shares, are able to view the shares if they logon onto other PC's and generate new profiles.  This tells me the users permissions/share setup permissions is not the issue.

the DC, using the domain admin account, cannot view the servers shares either, same error

The only DC is a 2003 R2 server, which I am trying to replace with the 2012 server.

I would like help understanding what may have gone wrong here and what the fix is.

Thanks in advance.
