We have a Windows 7 image ready for deploying using WDS. I activated both Windows 7 and Office 2010 before sysprep. I used a MAK product key to activate.
During the deployment stage, I have inserted the same MAK key in my answer file, however, after deployment, both products require activation again.
After much reading, I have seen that I can use the VAMT application, or I can simply activate individually after deployment. Because all the PCs will be on the LAN and will have access to the internet, I cannot see the benefit of using the VAMT. Does it just become valid if I have to reimage one of the systems, in that it can be reactivated without taking another activation from the MAK key?
I've also realised that each activation will obviously reduce the number of remaining activations. I was assuming that the applciations just required a one-time activation and would deploy activated.
Am I doing everything correctly?
