I have a number of new computers which I would like to deploy using WDS. However I am not sure of how to create an appropriate image for deployment because of the new Windows serial number situation. Traditionally I would have read the serial number off the computers case sticker; however now there is only a sticker that states 'Windows Pro', and no serial number is given.
My intention was to create an image which at install time requests the computers Windows OS serial number, but given that it is not written on the box how can I proceed. Are the days of WDS numbered?
