Hello!
Some friends/colleagues and I have this issue with a WDS setup, that is supposed to work like this:
WDS on Machine 1 via Windows Server 2012 R2
ESXi on Machine 2, has a Windows Server 2012 R2 installed, running AD DC and DHCP.
Then the WDS server should be used to deploy Windows 7/10/2012R2 and ESXi, include drivers for the PC's, have a few pre-installed software e.g. Microsoft Office/TeamViewer/Putty, and have the Windows versions to be unattended to autogenerate a name for the PC and then put it in the right Group Policy.
The issue is, that the WDS can easily deploy Windows and ESXi to virtual machines on the ESXi, but when it comes to deploying it to the physical machines, that it's supposed to, then it says there is no DHCP. But the PC's do have DHCP when booted up in Windows etc. but not during network PXEboot. It's like the netdriver gets lost during the boot.
We have tried adding the drivers to the WDS, so it also has a driver deployment - but with no success. Firewall is disabled (pure LAN atm, so its ok).
Our primary issue, is that the physical machines are not getting DHCP, but the DHCP server is running, and can give IP to the machines once they are booted up in e.g. Windows 10.
(Images here of the issue etc. once my account is verified)
Do you have any idea on how to fix this problem?
PS. It's a HP ProDesk 600 G2 (and G1) and a Lenovo ThinkPad T560 that we are using.
Best regards
