We are getting the following error with the DELL OptiPlex 7040 when connecting to the 2012R2 WDS server. We can successfully boot via PXE and initial communication with the WDS is OK, but we then get the following error:
WdsClient: An error occurred while obtaining an IP address from the DHCP server. Please check to ensure that there is an operational DHCP server on this network segment.
Searching around on google it mentions that the WDS client may time out, but this is not the case here, so we are left thinking it must be a network driver issue, but we have tried adding many different network drivers to the wim file to no effect
I press ALT F10 when i get the error to go to the command prompt and when I type IPCONFIG I just get Windows IP Configuration and no IP address.
Anyone have any ideas? The process works fine on an OPTIPLEX 9020
