Hi all,
I am attempting to get Windows Deployment Services up and running for my network. We have 3 sites, and I would like to use a DFS share for the Remote install folder. I initially set up my WDS share as D:\WDS and got everything working how I wanted it. Unfortunately I had set this up on the server that will not be the "Hub" of my DFS share. So, I moved the folder and created the share from our main site, and then moved the folder back. Now, when I attempt to configure Windows Deployment Service on the machine, I get "The service did not respond in a timely fashion":
So the Role configures for that folder but the service cannot start.
I attempted researching this specific
error, (-1216), and I found advice to attempt to un-initialize and re-initialize the Role through command line. Doing that, I get a similar response:
Still, the service is failing to start in a timely fashion.
I removed the Role from the server and restarted, and then attempted to configure the Role once more - same issues.
