We had an experienced technician do some work on our server (2008). The server has been operating smooth for years. That evening, several hundred updates came down to our server and crashed the server because some updates could not go in. The service technician claims that he had nothing to do with all the server updates coming down that evening. He says that Microsoft is responsible for sending all those updates that evening. He said that Microsoft can override the settings on a server and force the updates onto your server - is this true.
Please let me know if Microsoft can force all these updates onto a server.
