I am trying to add a Server 2012 R2 cloud instance to an existing SBS 2003 DC in the office and need some advise on deployment as it is not working properly.
Although many cloud providers offer a site-to-site type VPN, I have stared by doing a simple point-to-point vpn from the cloud server to the office server and added the 2012 server to the domain.
Based on this configuration I will not have a guaranteed persistent connection between the two servers for now.
Everything seems to replicate properly between the two servers but users can only log into the cloud server if the VPN connection is up.
How should I be configuring the cloud server so it can work independently from the office SBS 2003 server but still replicate domain info once the vpn connection is re-established.
