Hi! I hope you can help me.
I have a VmWare cluster running windows 2012 R2 servers (and 2012 r2 AD) with several VLANS (server, Client, Management and Printers, extralan) HP coreswitch and a ASA firewall in front of the extralan.
DNS and DHCP on a DC server - with option 66 and 67 defined
WDS 2012 r2 on a memberserver (IP 10.10.10.21) - Settings: "Respond to all client computers", "Continue the PXE boot unless the user presses the ESC key"
The problem is:
On the Client VLAN (physical clients connectet to a HP core switch / and virtual clients in vmcluster) WDS / PXE boot works 99,8 out of 100 times
On the Server VLAN (virtual clients) WDS/ PXE works 1 out of 100 times this the output:
Downloaded WDSNBP from 10.10.10.21 WDSNBP started using DHCP Referral. Contacting Server: 10.10.10.21 (Gateway: 0.0.0.0).. No response from Windows Depolyment Services server. Launching pxeboot.com... Press F12 for network service boot. PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM
IF I press F12 I get a light blue screen for a while and the computer reboots.
The same thing happes with clients on the extranet - but it works like 50 / 100 times
Any ideas ? The thing that bothers me is that it works sometimes - and sometimes not
