I used DISM (w7 version) for several years to maintain a W7 x64 Ultimate install image. Recently I started getting mount failures reporting "Error: 5 Access is denied." The log showed that several of the Registry files in
the mount folder as "access denied." I then removed the tools and installed the latest ADK. The DISM (Version: 6.3.9600.16384) log showed:

Plus a lot more "Access is denied." messages.
The only process I have found that solves this problem is to replace the install.wim file with a copy of the original one extracted from the DVD (only Ultimate image). I hope someone can suggest a better solution. Starting with original image, I have to inject all the current updates (currently 200!).
Thanks much for any help suggested.
Enjoy, John.
