I just completed training in 70-415, which I figured, to some extent would give me some updated knowledge on Building a deployment server. I took the 70-686 course back in 2012, (I believe), built my own study lab and later passed the exam. My agency, up until recently has been a novell/microsoft mix, we are slowly moving to AD, on a 2008 server(s). In the past, our (old) security kept denying the need for a deployment server as we had Zenworks, well, after the new Zenworks being presented to us, and not working any better then the older version, I was asked to finally set up a Deployment Server, I requested training in Server 2012 as this was the new version. (So after discussing a bit of history of my stuggles at work.)
Since I finished my training about 2 weeks ago, I was aprouched, by my supervisor and network administator, when I was ready to build the Deployment Server. After some disscussion, this the conclusion I came to:
1. They want the deployment server to be available to deploy images to PCs for new employees
and
2. They want the deployment server to available to deploy images to PCs that need to be repaired/replaced.
Last reason, 3. to update images monthly.
Taking these circumstances into consideration, is there any reason to build the most basic deployment server??
I don't see any reason to add any addition software, ACT, USMT, VAMT, WPT, ADK??
Just the basic configuration would work fine??
