WDS and DHCP behind Static IP that also has DHCP server issue

Hi all,

I initially asked this on a different area, as my assumption was that this was a DHCP issue, but was advised to ask here instead, so here goes...!

I hope I can find some help here, it's driving me batty, and quite possible I'm missing something obvious...

I've got a server essentials setup, on a dual nic system. Interface 1 (WAN) is assigned by DHCP from the business centres network setup. I then had a second NIC (LAN) that was configured as internet routing for the lan ,and also had DHCP assigned to it for WDS.

This was all working fine.

Then I asked for a static IP for an application I wanted to run. They said ok, just set the current WAN address as static and use that. So I did.

Now I find that WDS service wont work because the DHCP service has stopped, and can't start. It reports that another DHCP server is present (of course it is, on the WAN interface... but that isn't, or shouldn't be visible as it were to the DHCP setup...)...

If I revert the WAN interface to dynamic, it starts working again.

I've checked config in DHCP, binding show correctly.

Am I missing something or have I missed a stage?

This should work, right? Any help appreciated!
