Laptop to deploy OS

Hi,

I need to reinstall 50+ client computers at a few of our schools. Most of the computers are the same type and same specs.

They are in a workgroup and do not need to be member of a domain for now!

My questions:

1. I was wondering if it would be possible to have my laptop deploying Windows 7 to our client computers?
2. Can I do this only by installing Windows Deployment toolkit/Windows Deployment services and System Center Configuration manager on my laptop that runs Windows7 or do I need to install Windows Server 2008/2012 on my laptop?
3. Is there any other ‘portable’ ways to do this?
4. Could this be done from VMware workstation on my laptop? Or should I install WS2008/2012 side by side my Windows 7?
