Standalone WDS on Windows 2012 R2 won't work

I recently imported install images, boot images and unattended answer files to WDS @ 2012 R2 from my old WDS @ 2k8 R2. All install images include drivers as they are model-specific. All images use the same unattended file (image-specific answer file, not the global one).

New server responds to client requests without any problems. I can get into the install wizard and quickly select image I want to deploy. Everything is working fine till I get to customization stage. After 'setup is installing devices' screens I'm asked to select a timezone and other things that are provided in the answer file. It seems the client computers can't download the answer file becuase their connection is down. And it should not be down because there are drivers in the install images, am I right? I am unable to obtain an IP address on a client computer.

This works perfectly though when I use my old server for deployments.

Any ideas?

No changes have been made to the images or answer files, they were simply exported to *.wim and imported to the new server.
