Hi all,
I am currently testing WDS + MDT to replace our current image deployment system. Unfortunatly we are having major issues with TFTP transfers with some 1000Mb clients.
100Mb clients always works no matter what NIC/switch etc....
1000Mb clients have random multiple second gaps between tftp transfers from the server and acknowledging the response. As a result the transfer speeds are absymal. We have tried adjusting the block size and window size but nothing helps. The same clients when forced to 100Mb by the switch run absolutely fin.
The WDS server is running in hyper-v on a dell R710 with broadcom network cards. I have disable checksum offload and other advance network features and this has made intel and realtec based cards now able to load via TFTP again. Sadly most of our 500 machines are use NVidia based network chips which still don't work.
Our old solution uses norton ghost and solarwinds tftp server, the same problem clients work absolutely fine with the old setup. The old server is also virtual running on the same hardware.
I have read through pretty much every post I can find on the net with regards to slow speeds, including this article which seems very simaler http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserversetup/thread/7fb8d195-9ecb-4adf-8250-5ee0f4f78521 but sadly unsolved.
Any sugestions?
