Teamed NICs but no internet access

I find it quite discouraging that everybody says not to team NICs if you are a newbie.  I teamed mine and while I probably didn't do it in the most effective manner, I learned quite a bit during the process.  But for all of my efforts, I still have one problem.

I can't access the internet...

Working with a Dell PowerEdge T610 using 4 Broadcom GigabitII or whatever ports, I got them teamed and running at 4GBs, or so it says.  Everything works fine except for the fact that I can't access the internet.  Everything on the Intranet works, but I can't even ping google.  I just started this job 3 weeks ago and I'm working in a distributed environment where I don't have access to the network core switches or routers, much less all the equipment that corporate IT controls.  So my current hypothesis is that I am being blocked from the internet by IPsec or some sort of policy.

I'm SURE I don't have them configured quite correctly, because my previous counterparts did not keep any sort of documentation so I have to use DHCP so I don't cause an IP conflict.  I don't have it configured where one card uses a certain protocol and another uses another method.  Every thing was just /release 'd and then teamed using Broadcom's utility.

I read on another post about a possible problem with MAC addresses being set in firewalls, so that could be an issue, although I'm not sure if he was talking about the MAC of the NIC or server itself.  Since I don't have any access to the core network infrastructure, I'd have to contact the appropriate authorities to check.  But before I do that, does anybody have any suggestions?  Just because it says I'm getting a 4GB connection on the details in my network and sharing center, does that mean I REALLY get that speed?  Is there any accurate way to test this?

Thanks in advance!

Drackin (I don't know who stole the name I've had since Gemstone III, but I guess I'm flattered)
