I am trying to capture an image of a computer that has been set up.
It is running Windows POS Embedded XP. Basically the computer has been setup with it's software and drivers and I want to push an image back to WDS so I can set up more machines.
I ran a test using a Sysprep Capture Task Sequence on a Windows 7 test machine. It pushed the image back with the software I installed however at the same time it looked like it installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 and my systems settings were all changed. The only thing that remained the same were the applications I had installed.
I don't fully understand how the sysprep works. I thought that using this task sequence would just capture an image of the current setup, push it back and save it as a .wim file. Why do you need to select the OS as part of the sequence?
Any help is much appreciated.
Stefan.
