Current Scenario:
2 Domains in 1 forest.
Domain 1: abc (without the .local) - This was a pre-existing setup which was taken over
Domain2: def.local - This is a domain that we have added to the forest
There are 4 Domain Controllers 2 of which are Global Catalogs and running Windows Server 2008 R2, the two servers that are not a Global Catalog are running Windows Server 2003. All these servers are on the abc domain. As well as this we have one member server
which runs back end Exchange 2010, this too is on the abc domain. The front end of exchange 2010 is on one of the Global Catalogs server.
We have added an additional 3 servers which are all running Windows Server 2012 R2 and are all Global Catalogs. These are all on the def.local domain.
All workstations are joined to the abc domain.
What we would like to do:
We would like to have all workstations joined to def.local domain but would like to know how this could be achieved and if this was done how would the exchange 2010 operate between the workstation being on def.local and the server being on abc domain.
What is the best way to have all workstations on the def.local domain and have exchange working too?
If you require any further information please do let me know.
Kind Regards
Ashwin
