Dear Technet-Support,
a lot of months ago I installed a Windows Server 2008 R2 with Windows-Deployment-Services in a VMWare virtual infrastructure. Until now we only installed clients with a single installation (unicast). Since last week we're planning a quick migration from Windows-XP to Windows-7. The multicast-installation with WDS seems to be the best solution for installing a lot of clients with the same hardware-configuration at once.
After adding a multicast-transmission with the image, the transmission started as it should be after 2 clients requested for the image. But it turns out that the transmission ist very slow.It takes over half an hour to transfer one percentage of data. While using unicast, one client is completely ready after the same time. The clients have the exact same hardware-configuration
What I already tried:
-Editing the "AppBlockSize" parameter to 4500 and once to 1386 as Microsoft recommended on issues
-turn on IGMP snooping for deliver the ip packets only to the needed clients.
I am really looking forward to get some ideas and possible solutions.
Best regards
Kevin Dreher
